Equal treatment and anti-discrimination are tasks of the following organisations:
Equal Opportunities Working Parties are established in every Austrian university since 1993. They are a collegial body that acts independently from dictates. The Working group on equal opportunities of the University of Vienna has 21 members and 42 compensational members requested from all groups and faculties.
Tasks oft he Arbitration Commission are: Mediation in cases of dispute between university members, handling complaints concerning gender discrimination, ethnic affiliation, religious orientation or philosophy of life, age or sexual orientation, submitted by the Equal Opportunities Working Party resulting from a decision on the part of a University organ.
The main goal of the office is to be an initial contact point for those affected by sexual harassment and mobbing.
