The Gender Equality and Diversity Unit has continuously expanded gender monitoring in recent years. In the future, data analysis will be further developed in the direction of a diversity monitoring.
Current measures in this area are:
"Scissor diagrams" show the development of women's and men's divisions in the differentstages of an academic career. Starting in 2016, the scissor diagrams are analyzed annually in the form of a 5-year comparison from the Praedoc level to professorships. A comparison of the scissor diagrams of the years 2011 and 2016 of all faculties and centers of the University of Vienna is available in German and English (PDF).
Every two years, data brochures with gender-specific data on students, scientific and administrative staff at the University of Viennare published (in German only). These are available on request free of charge in the Gender Equality and Diversity Unit. The next data brochure will be published in 2018.
Gender Pay Gap
In 2010 the Gender Equality and Diversity Unit started on monitoring the salary differences in men and women in the diverse status groups employed at University of Vienna. From 2010 unitl 2016 the Gender Equality and Diversity Unit created internal reports on the gender pay gap at the University of Vienna and developed instruments for the implementation of a regular gender pay gap monitoring.
In the meantime, a new indicator was introduced in the Federal Ministry's Knowledge Scoreboard, which obliges universities for publishing regular gender pay gap reports.
Employees of the University of Vienna can have a look at the income report on their status group at the respective work council or at Equal Opportunities Working Group.
